Well&Often seeks poems and prose by educators for new book anthology.

Description

Well&Often, a Brooklyn-based press, seeks poetry and prose submissions for a new anthology that explores the relationship between writing and teaching. Using this specific lens, we are looking for work that address, illuminate, and ask questions about the work of educators through various access points. We are not looking for critical essays or political commentary, rather writing that bring readers into the heart of classrooms. Who you teach, why you teach, what you teach. We aim to create curriculum around this publication, bringing it into classrooms, to teachers to learn from and create based on and to spread the poems and messages far and wide.

Well&Often is a publisher of fiction, short fiction, poetry, art books and literary anomalies. We publish printed works, audio books, and digital editions. Founded on the belief that art is at its best when not constrained by the demands of commerce, we seek to publish work that challenges expectations in terms of authorship as well as content, Well&Often lives in Brooklyn. We love design and we have no secrets.

FAQ’s

When will we know if we’ve been accepted?
Early summer 2012 is our goal. Response time is slow and will vary. Our small staff will do our best to give a timely response. Thank you for your patience.

Is there payment? What do I get?
There is no fee to submit your work. As a small press, we are not in financial position to compensate contributors. If the opportunity to create curriculum arises, we’ll be in touch about the possibility of compensation. Each contributor, however, will receive a copy of their own. Authors will retain rights to their work. Simultaneous submissions are accepted. We require non-exclusive print rights, for potential curriculum and promotional materials. All other rights remain yours.

Will my work be changed or edited?
All work will be combed through carefully for grammar. If a small change is made for clarity by the editor, we will contact you to make sure you approve this edit.
